Emergency contacts allow you to send a notification to other people using SMS when the alarm is triggered (smoke, water leakage, or from the alarm system).


What are help contacts what can I do with it?

Help contacts are neighbours, friends or relatives who want to alert you when the alarm is triggered. With emergency contacts you can set up 4 contacts that also receive a message from an alarm activation. HomeWizard then launches a group call via SMS. This way you can easily ask for help even when you're not home. It is important to ask these people in advance if you can also nominate them as emergency contacts, then they are aware they can receive messages from you. You can indicate whether you want a group call to be started immediately with your help contacts in a notification, or only if you have authorised yourself. Permission can be found in the notification detailing or in the notification on your phone.


How do I set up help contacts?

The following instructions on how to add help contacts can be found on the HomeWizard link.


  1. Open the  'HomeWizard app'
  2. Go to the'My Home' tab at the bottom right of the screen. (automatically when opening app)
  3. In the app, go to the  'Home Settings' by clicking the gear icon in the upper right corner.
  4. Go to "Help Contacts"
  5. You are in the "Help Contacts" screen.
    • Choose "My Contact Information" to fill out your personal information.
      • You are in personal information.
        • Name
        • Country
        • Phone number (or choose a phone number from your contact list)
        • Language
      • Press 'Save' to save your own personal information.
    • Choose  "Add help contact" to add an auxiliary contact.
      • You are in 'New Assistance Contact' In the same way as contact information, enter the personal details of your help contact.
        • Name
        • Country
        • Phone number (or choose a phone number from your contact list)
        • Language
      • Press 'Save' to save your auxiliary contact information.
      • Up to 4 auxiliary contacts can be added.
    • Choose when to tell your help contacts.
      • Immediately after an alarm activation
      • 2 minutes after an alarm activation
      • Only after my approval
    • Press "Test Help" to send a text message to verify that everyone nominated can receive a message. It may take some time for the message to arrive depending on the network provider of the phone.
  6. Congratulations, you have added your own contact information and help contacts to the HomeWizard link.


How do I contact my help contacts in a notification?

If you have chosen to immediately contact auxiliary contacts with a notification, a group call will automatically start if you receive an alert via the HomeWizard link. If you have chosen to inform help contacts after your approval, you can do this in two ways:

  • Notify from the notification

  • Inform from the app


Notify from the notification

  1. Slide the notification to the left as soon as you receive it on your device.
  2. Click View
  3. Click "Inform contacts"

You then receive an SMS that a group call has started.


Inform from the app

  1. Click on the red card in the 'My Home' tab
  2. Click "Inform contacts"
  3. Then you then receive SMS that a group call has started.
