The Amazon Alexa can be integrated into the HomeWizard Link app. This way you can use Amazon Alexa to control your HomeWizard Link devices with voice commands.


Add your link to Amazon Alexa

Before you continue make sure your Amazon Alexa enabled device is correctly setup and that you have a working Amazon Alexa account.


The following steps explain how to setup the HomeWizard Link Skill on your Amazon Alexa enabled device:


  1. Open the  'HomeWizard link app'
  2. Your enter  My Home’ screen
  3. In the app, go to the  'Home Settings' by clicking the gear icon in the upper right corner.
  4. Select  ’Integration'
  5. You are in the 'Integration' screen.
    • Select  'Amazon Alexa’ to start the integration.
      • Select ‘Download Alexa Skill’ it will refer you to a website link .
      • Select ‘Open Alexa’ it will refer you to the Amazon Alexa-app
        • Press ‘Enable’ to install the skill onto the Alexa  
          • Enter your ‘email’ and ‘password' of your HomeWizard-account and then select ‘Log in’ .
          • Give access by selecting ‘ Authorise
        • A screen will show that the HomeWizard link has been successfully linked. Close this window to discover smart-home devices you can control with Alexa
      • Next, discover the connected devices on the HomeWizard Link by saying "Alexa, Discover Devices" or by clicking the 'Discover Devices' button in the Smart Home section of the Alexa app.
      • Your devices should appear in your list of discovered devices using the name given in the HomeWizard Link App.
      • After the setup process is finished, test it by simply asking Alexa to turn a light on or off.
  6. Congratulations, you have successfully setup the HomeWizard Link Skill on your Amazon Alexa enabled device. You can now use your own voice to switch devices, or control your devices from the Amazon Alexa App on your smartphone!

Once you know the name or group of your lights, you can say the following:


LED bulb

Connected led lights 

'Alexa, Turn on the hallway light' - Turns on the 'hallway light'.

'Alexa, Turn off the hallway light' - Turns on the 'hallway light'.

'Alexa, dim the hallway light' - Lowers the brightness of hallway light.

'Alexa, dim the hallway light by 5 percent' - Lowers the brightness of 'hallway light' by 5 percent.

'Alexa, make the hallway light warmer' - Adjust the 'hallway light' colour to a warmer colour.

'Alexa, make the hallway light cooler' - Adjust the 'hallway light' colour to a cooler colour.

'Alexa, set the hallway light to warm white' - Changes the 'hallway light' colour to warm white.

'Alexa, set the kitchen light to daylight' - Changes the 'kitchen light' colour to daylight.

Connected Colour LED lamp also supports changing colours

Here is an example on how to change the colour to red.

'Alexa, make the bedroom light red' - Changes the 'bedroom light' colour to red.


Dimmer

Dimmer Socket:

'Alexa, Turn on the dimmer' - Turns on the 'dimmer'.

'Alexa, Turn off the dimmer' - Turns off the 'dimmer'.

'Alexa, dim the dimmer' - Lowers the brightness of the 'dimmer'.

'Alexa, dim the dimmer by 5 percent' - Lowers the brightness of the 'dimmer' by 5 percent.


Energy switch

Energy Switch:

'Alexa, Turn on the energy switch' - Turns on the energy switch.

'Alexa, Turn off the energy switch' - Turns off the energy switch.
